Vocations Sunday – Fr. Jamison Vocations Director

Theme: ‘To live is to change and to be perfect is to have changed often’. Bl. John Henry Newman.

Being a disciple of Christ involves continuous development. Childhood prayers must evolve into adult prayer, an easy going friendship may lead to marriage. Further discernment may lead to the Priesthood or Religious Life of a Brother or Sister. Whatever form prayer is the basis.

The Gift:

Is a DVD based course that it is hoped parishes/deaneries will use as a way to ‘engage and joyfully explore what it means to be spirit-filled in everyday life’. The DVD uses inspirational speakers who provide content in a relaxed and informative way.

This is especially true as we all move deeper into Forward Together in Hope. To explain the content and how to use the DVD there will be two sessions across two Saturdays. More information please email tim@faithcafe.org or ring 07875 848138.

World Day of Prayer for Vocations

All the good works in the world

Are not equal to the Holy Sacrifice of the
Mass because they are the works of men;

But the Mass is the work of God.

Martyrdom is nothing in comparison

For it is but the sacrifice of man to God;

but the Mass is the sacrifice

Of God for man.”

 St. John Vianney Patron Saint of All the World’s Priests

For each one of us, there is only one thing necessary:

To fulfil our own destiny,

According to God’s will,

To be what God wants us to be. Thomas Merton

If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze! St. Catherine of Sienna.

You will know your vocation by the joy that is brings you. You will know.

You will know when it’s right. Dorothy Day.
