Preparing for Sea Sunday – 8th July

The shoes you are wearing

The fridge in your kitchen

The cars parked in your street

There’s a good chance they have reached UK on a container ship where the seamen may be at sea for months.

Many container ships don’t have internet access, satellite phones are expensive.  A child could be born, relative die without any communication with the ship.

Apostleship of the Sea port chaplains and visitors go on board providing SIM cards mobile phone top-up cards and arrange transport

At Teesport recently Paul Atkinson AoS port chaplain discovered a car carrier with Filipino crew without essential food for a week. He arranged fresh supplies from the local community to be delivered.

Please give generously to this appeal next Sunday.
