World Mission Sunday

World Mission Sunday is the one Sunday in the year when the entire global Church comes together in support of mission. And all the donations from these worldwide Masses go entirely to support churches, hospitals, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is new, young or poor. We pray for those who bring God’s mercy. Missio is the Catholic Church’s official charity for overseas mission.

One World Week –

Working together for a just, peaceful and sustainable world

Each year, thousands of people take part in One World Week events across the country which includes United Nations day (24th October)

“We are the first generation to know that we’re undermining the ability of the Earth system to support human development…. This is a profound new insight and it’s potentially very, very scary … This is also an enormous privilege because it means that we are the first generation to know that we now need to navigate a transformation to a globally sustainable future.”

Rockstrom, J. The Great Acceleration
