Homeless Sunday – Today

Today is an opportunity to listen to what God has to say about homelessness. Through prayer and reflection, we consider what action we are being called to take. Through street actions and sleep-outs, churches connect with homeless people, challenge political representatives, as well as commit through practical action.

There are 1,843,992 households in England and Scotland on a local authority housing waiting list.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mercy

Hail Holy Queen

Mother on Mercy

Hail our life our sweetness and our hope

To thee do we cry,

poor banished children of Eve.

To thee do we send up our sighs,

Mourning and weeping in this value of tears.

Turn then, most gracious advocate,

Thine eyes of mercy towards us,

And after this our exile

Show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Pray for us, O holy Mother of God,

That we may be made worthy

Of the promises of Christ.
