Urgent Message about our children and our schools.

At the last of the Lenten Partnership Masses a representative from our schools read out an appeal for all parishioners to consider supporting in any way the future of our children’s education following Government proposed reorganisations. Some of examples given is to pray daily from the prayer card given to each parishioner ‘Praying for Schools in West Northumberland’; another to write to M.P. – pro forma letters to follow.

Eucharist Congress in Liverpool

The bishops of England & Wales have set Frid. 7th – 9th Sept. to hold a National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress. This is a gathering of clergy, religious and laity which promotes awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church.

Our diocese has been allocated around 360 tickets for week-end event. Each partnership has around 17 tickets and the Bishop is urging parishioners to take advantage of this unique event in Liverpool.

For those wishing to go for the Saturday only preparations are afoot for coaches to leave certain venues in the diocese for the all day event returning p.m. More details later.

Anyone interested contact Veronica Yarwood or Fr. Pyle.
