Quotes of the Week

When politics were more local, they were more truthful. G.K. Chesterton.

The tyrant dies and his rule is over, the martyr dies and his rule begins. Seren Kierkegaard 1855.

Christian Aid Prayer

Loving God

move us to walk with women in Ethiopia;

as temperatures rise and patterns of rainfall shift,

their pastureland is in danger, their livestock at risk.

Let the hope we see

in the gift of a cow be lasting.

Let us stand with them.

Mighty God

as our lifestyles worsen climate change,

the world’s poorest affected most.

Shake us out of our comfort.

Let our voices be like water in a dry land.

Let our footsteps bring us

closer to a world without climate change.

Let our calls for justice

move our leaders to act. Amen.
