Hospital chaplains ready to help

If you or your family are staying in hospital consider asking for the support of the chaplaincy team – maybe by appreciating a prayer; Holy Communion or a break from the ward in order to visit the hospital chapel.

ISIS and the Old Testament

Qaryatayn housed the ancient famous monastery of Mar Elian which was                     recently destroyed by ISIS fighters. Under the name Hazar-enan, Qaryatayn                 appears in the Old Testament (Ezekiel 47:17, 48:1: Numbers 34:9-10).                         Remember the community in our prayers.

Thought for the week

Getting old comes at a bad time of life. Ken.

Racial Sunday

Let us pray for those who suffer any form of racial discrimination in our society, that God may strengthen them and change the hearts of those who discriminate against them. Lord in your mercy.

R/ Hear our Prayer

Let us pray that our lives are filled with God’s divine presence, love and compassion and that we recognise every person’s God-given dignity. Lord in your mercy

Let us pray for immigrants fleeing their homelands, that they find the encouragement and support of people of goodwill. Lord in your mercy.

Let us pray for all those who speak out against the evil of racial discrimination and other forms of discrimination in our society that God may bless and make their work fruitful. Lord in your mercy.

Let us pray for Christians, that we may truly live the gospel values, as we strive to proclaim the good news in what we say and do.

Lord in your mercy.
