26th April – 4th Sunday of Easter, B
H.B. & Hw.

This is the only name ...
... this is the only name by which we can be saved.
(Acts: 4, 8-12)

We can forget all the other names.
When it comes to our total wellbeing there is only one name, Jesus Christ.

So what's in a name?
What's in the only name in which we can be saved?
I would suggest that what is in the only name in which we can be saved is pure goodness, endless love, refuge and salvation. This name is the cornerstone of our wellbeing.

And the name in our tradition is the person. Know the name, know the person. And we know Jesus Christ.
We are not talking of knowing about him. We are not talking about knowing him intellectually. The knowledge we speak of "is the profound experience of the person of Jesus as the Son of the Father." Our knowledge is a sharing in the reciprocal knowledge
between Jesus and his Father.

We pray for men and women to come forward to share with others, the life who is Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the only name by which we can be saved.
